Parboiled long rice is an easy-to-prepare product that can be used in any recipe calling for long white rice. But what exactly is parboiled rice? Parboiled white rice refers to a product that has been made non-sticky through a special process called parboiling. Raw rice grains are exposed to water and steam.
After the process, the rice's moisture is reduced, and the product is drained. The rice is then placed in a parboiling column, similar to a large pressure cooker. The grains undergo a transformation that gives them their "non-sticky" properties.
Organic parboiled rice undergoes the same transformation process as regular parboiled long rice. The difference lies in how the fields are cultivated. Fields managed through organic farming produce "organic" rice. After parboiling, it becomes organic parboiled rice.
