Camargue IGP rice
Camargue rice is an agricultural product identified as Protected Geographical Indication (IGP). This means that the qualities of Camargue rice are directly linked to the territory in which they are grown. It must be said that the Camargue offers a unique ecosystem, located between two arms of the Rhône. The wetland is classified as a Regional Natural Park and recognized as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO since the 1970s.
The IGP also recognizes know-how. Here, with the range of IGP organic Camargue rice designed and developed by Provence Factoriz and its Hériztage brand, family values and know-how are perpetuated and transmitted to the new generation of rice farmers. The latter came to inject just the right amount of innovation to revive tradition while prioritizing sustainable development.
How to recognize Camargue rice?
Organic Camargue rice is renowned for its delicate flavors and its long, firm grains, offering exceptional cooking strength. The color palette of organic Camargue rice varies from brown to white, including deliciously golden shades with more or less pronounced flavors.
Long Camargue rice easily accompanies all hot meat and fish dishes. Parboiled, Camargue rice is particularly suitable for salads thanks to its nutritional properties and its unstickable grains. Complete and/or fragrant, organic Camargue IGP rice brings taste nuances to the palate and decorative nuances on the plate. Round rice is more often used as a dessert and ideal for preparing risotto.
Organic Camargue rice
Hériztage rice is produced in the Camargue Regional Natural Park, using organic farming. The cultivation of organic Camargue rice is naturally part of an approach to controlling water consumption and commitment to strict compliance with the requirements of the AB label (organic) which characterize the spirit of Provence Factoriz.
This label not only guarantees the absence of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, but also a reduced environmental impact at each stage of production. This demonstrates a desire to preserve the unique biodiversity of the region, while offering high quality organic Camargue rice, respectful of local ecosystems.
The commitment to organic farming is also accompanied by particular attention to soil quality, the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of the carbon footprint. Each grain of organic Camargue rice reflects a family heritage, agricultural expertise and a deep respect for nature.
